Petrification occurs underground when wood becomes buried under sediment - water flowing through the sediment deposits minerals replacing the structure of the tree that died millions of years earlier. Petrified Wood is believed to be an extremely grounding and protecting stone. It is said to calm the nerves and fears and to encourage feelings of well-being, safety and security. It is a good stone for meditation. A grade beads. Mixes of translucent to opaque - in shades of brown and amber. Sold as temporary strung 37cm (approx) strands.
