Brazil Petrified Wood
Legend - Fossil wood replaced by Chalcedony. Petrified wood comes from the Greek word petro meaning “stone”. Petrification occurs underground when wood becomes buried under sediment - water flowing through the sediment deposits minerals replacing the structure of the tree that died millions of years earlier.
Properties - Petrified Wood is believed to be an extremely grounding and protecting stone. It is said to calm the nerves and fears and to encourage feelings of well-being, safety and security. It is a good stone for meditation.
Description - These Petrified Wood beads are mixes of translucent to opaque - in shades of brown and amber. Sold as temporary strung 40cm (approx) strands.
