Mexican Jasper
Legend - This black and white striped gemstone from Mexico is actually a calcite but it is usually sold as a jasper because of its opaque appearance when polished. Calcite is the one of the most common minerals on earth, constituting about 4% of the Earth's crust by weight. The name calcite comes from a Greek word chalx, meaning "lime." It is also known as Black and White Zebra Jasper.
Properties - Considered to be an energy amplifier.
Description - These Mexican Jasper beads are a stunning contrast between the white patches and charcoal/black areas. Sold as temporary strung 40cm (approx) strands.
