Palmwood Beads
Palmwood beads are made from a hardwood timber from palm trees. The coconut palm is planted as a crop and bears fruit until about 70 years of age at which point it is felled to make way for future crops. Traditionally, the trunks have been wasted by-products and it is only in very recent years that their commercial potential has been realised. The colour range is golden with dark brown flecks. They have no annual growth rings or branches which means they are free from knots and other imperfections.
